Liberty Bank, the third largest bank in Georgia, has become one of the first banks in the country to introduce Visa and Mastercard card tokenisation services with technological support from Compass Plus, an international provider of retail banking and electronic payments software to payment processors and financial institutions.
Liberty Bank customers can now benefit from the convenience of using their mobile phone to make contactless purchases in shops, and for making payments in apps. By becoming one of the first banks in the country to offer this service to its customers, the bank has proved itself to be at the forefront of the local payments market.
During the implementation of the project, the Visa Token Service and Mastercard Digital Enablement Service needed to be supported within a short timeframe, requiring resource mobilisation both from the bank and Compass Plus to ensure the project went live as soon as possible.
